First bank cards with OLED display unveiled

19 April 2024 |  DROIDOFF

Sentry Enterprises' Radiance Series plastic cards were the first bank cards to feature embedded OLED panels. These cards look like regular plastic cards but feature a display that flashes when transactions are made. This innovative solution is designed to help banks differentiate their products and simplify the payment process for users.

For banks, it provides an opportunity to add unique design elements, such as illuminating a branded logo, which can catch the attention of customers. For users, Radiance cards make it easier to determine the correct distance to the terminal for payment, and also make it easier to stand out from regular plastic card holders.

These cards support Visa or Mastercard payment systems and are powered for display via an NFC module for contactless payment. While it is not yet known when they will be available to users, Sentry Enterprises said the cards are now fully ready for market.
